The beautiful landscapes surrounding Ciliau Aeron and the wider Ceredigion area have featured on the popular television series Weatherman Walking, presented by Derek Brockway. The programme showcases some of the very best walking routes across Wales, highlighting the dramatic coastline, peaceful countryside and fascinating history of the region.

Several episodes have explored locations close to our hotel, including sections of the Ceredigion Coast Path, the stunning waterfalls at Devil’s Bridge, and walks through the Teifi Valley and nearby coastal towns.

-Aberaeron

A charming Georgian harbour town located on the coast of Ceredigion in West Wales. Aberaeron was developed in the early 19th century and designed as a planned town. One of its most distinctive features is the row of brightly painted houses surrounding Aberaeron Harbour. These pastel-coloured buildings give the town its unique and instantly recognisable character.

The harbour itself remains the heart of the community and is a lovely place to enjoy a walk, watch the boats, or relax with a drink in a beer garden.

-New Quay

The picturesque harbour village of New Quay is only a short drive from Aberaeron and is one of the best places in Wales to see dolphins in the wild.

​

Boat trips leave regularly from the harbour and offer visitors the chance to see bottlenose dolphins, seals and seabirds in Cardigan Bay. Visitors can also find the trail of the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, begining near the pier. The town is believed to have inspired parts of his famous work Under Milk Wood.

The charming coastal village of Llangrannog is well known for its beautiful sandy beach and dramatic cliffs.

​

Visitors will often spot the famous statue of the Saint Crannog. Crannog was the grandson or perhaps the son of Ceredig, the 5th century Prince of Ceredigion. Standing on the headland above Llangrannog Beach — a popular walk and photo spot overlooking the sea.

​

This beach is picturesque and popular for surfing, kayaking, and its connection to the scenic coastal path.
