From our beautifully renovated rooms to the breathtaking landscapes, every corner of Tŷ Glyn tells a story — and we can’t wait to help you write yours.

Before the grand house of Tŷ Glyn Aeron was built in 1825 by Thomas Winwood, the land had already witnessed centuries of remarkable history.

During the 1930’s under the ownership of Geoffrey Faber, T.S. Eliot was a regular guest, staying every Summer from 1933 to 1941, drawing inspiration for Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, which later became the musical, Cats. In the 50’s Ty Glyn was also owned by the Wilton Clark family. Gillian ‘Bobby’ Wilton Clark was a war heroine, and one of only six women to receive the George Medal, who later became a renowned rally car driver competing in many Monte Carlo races.

After multiple owners the house endured a devastating fire in the mid 80’s but was restored by Stan and Eleri Thomas, preserving the features that remained. Now a celebrated hotel, Tŷ Glyn offers guests an elegant escape, where history meets sophistication. Whether indulging at the Tŷ Glyn restaurant, exploring its gardens, or unwinding in its suites, we invite visitors to become part of a living legacy—one shaped by centuries of ambition, artistry, and resilience.

Welcome to the new chapter of Tŷ Glyn.
